Rome. Lazio. Italy. View of the Colonna dell'Immacolata , a tall cipollino marble column monument at the Piazza Mignanelli which is near the Spanish Steps. Unearthed in 1777, the column was erected in 1854 and inaugurated in September 1857. It has at its base statues of Moses, David, Isaiah and Ezechiel. The column is topped by a bronze statue of the Virgin Mary by artist sculptor Giuseppe Obici.
