Perge. Antalya. Turkey. View of architectural fragments of a once richly decorated nymphaeum fountain. The fountain is on the west side of the ceremonial courtyard that opens from the Roman gate. The fountain was built during the reign of Emperor Septimius Severus (193-211) and had a two-storeyed façade and wide pool with statues of the emperor and his wife. The well preserved ancient city of Perge was founded by colonists originating from the Peloponnese in Greece.
