View of the lower section of the southeast Propylon, which gives access to the Ionic peristyle courtyard and in the distance is the Gate of Athena Archegetis, the monumental formal entrance. Dating from the 1st century BC, the Roman Agora is about 100 metres to the east of the Ancient Agora and is complex consisting of a large rectangular open courtyard surrounded by stoas, shops and storerooms.
