The Panathenaic (Kallimarmaro) stadium was used for the first international Olympic games of the modern era in 1896. The completely marble stadium occupies the exact site of the original, built in 330BC which was used for the ancient Panathenaic games (part of the larger religious festival, the Panathenaia).
