Perge. Antalya. Turkey. View of the decorated rear façade of the Roman entrance gate and courtyard in the ancient city. Dating from the period of reign of Emperor Septimius Severus (193-211) the gate is built in the form of a triumphal arch. To the right are the ruins of a of a once richly decorated nymphaeum fountain. The well preserved ancient city of Perge was founded by colonists originating from the Peloponnese in Greece.
