Tree lined leafy path, Orto Botanico di Roma or Rome's Botanical Garden. Located on the lower slopes of Gianicolo or Janiculum Hill, the tranquil secret garden was established in 1883 on the formerly private grounds of the Palazzo Corsini and is run by the University of Rome. A green oasis and retreat from the hustle and bustle of Rome, the gardens are spread over 12 hectares of land and contains over 8000 plant species from all over the world.
