Perge. Antalya. Turkey. View of the façade of the ancient Greco-Roman theatre built into the slope of a hill at the ancient city. Built in the 2nd century AD, the theatre was use for stage performances and as well for gladiatorial combats later in the Roman period. It had the capacity to seat 15000 spectators. It is currently under restoration and not accessible. The well preserved ancient city of Perge was founded by colonists originating from the Peloponnese in Greece.
