Passage between the Mycenaean Cyclopean inner and outer walls that leads to the outer gate, Tiryns, Peloponnese, Greece. Possibly the port of Mycenae and mentioned as ‘well walled’ in the lliad by Homer, the 13th century BC Mycenaean fortress of Tiryns is considered a masterpiece of ancient military architecture and one the greatest cities of the ancient Mycenaean civilization. Tiryns is a Unesco World Heritage Site.
