Images in this gallery are from the ancient Greek city of Miletus, which is in western Anatolia on the Aegean coast of Turkey. In ancient times, Miletus was on the coast at the mouth of the River Meander and theatre faced one of the city harbours prior to it silting up. The ruins of Miletus are now located 8 kilometres inland.
