Images in this photo gallery are of the Colossi of Memnon, which depict the Pharaoh Amenhotep III seated and are in Theban necropolis. In the west bank across Nile River opposite Luxor, the statues are over 3400 years old and reach a towering 18 meters (approx. 60 feet) in height.

Images in this photo gallery are from the Karnak religious complex at Luxor ancient Thebes. In the complex's heart is the Great Temple of Amun. This spectacular vast complex (247 acres) which was built and enlarged by many Pharaohs’ trying to outdo each other over 1500 years (beginning from the 11th - Dynasty) has an avenue of sphinxes at its entrance and inside has many temples, obelisks, pylons, enormous sculptures, colonnaded courtyards and sacred lake. The highlight would have to be the awe-inspiring Hypostyle Hall which covers 6000 square metres and has a remarkable forest of 134 colossal stone pillars. It is still the largest room in any religious building in the world.
